Get on the plane!
Its' one thing to have faith and another matter entirely to act on your faith.Our faith becomes meaningful to us and effective for our salvation only when we have faith in God. But what if we never act on that faith? How meaningful and effective is it then? Look at it this way. Lets's say we made a reservation to fly to Hawaii. When the day for our flight arrives, we drive to the airport, check in, and walk to our gate. But rather than taking our seat on the plane, we sit in the airport and watch the plane take off. Then we turn to some guy next to us and say, "Hey, you see that plane? I have a reservation for that flight. My reservation is going to Hawaii."
Our faith in God is like that reservation to Hawaii. Just as we fulfill our reservation to Hawaii by getting on the plance, we fulfill our faith in God by getting with His plan. (Eph 2:10).
Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. (James 2:17)
